There are many different methods of driving traffic. Some affiliates make mistakes without their knowledge while trying to drive more traffic to their sites from search engines and get their websites/blogs banned. Without a doubt Google is the number 1 search engine today and getting your website banned by Google can be very costly. There are several different reasons why Google bans websites.

1) One of the main reasons is adding duplicate content to you site. Directly pasting content from another website can make your website/blog banned from Google. Content is king when it comes to ranking high but duplicate content will ban your site in Google.

2) Linking to adult sites, gambling sites or linking to other sites that’s already banned by Google is another reason to get your site banned by Google.

3) Some affiliates say that using text links is a great way to drive traffic but in the year 2007 Google banned sites for using text links. Therefore buying text links is another trick that has to be avoided.

4) Keyword stuffing is another obvious reason to get your website/blog banned, most SEO experts have stated that a good keyword density is 1% – 3%. Using the same keyword too much can be considered as spam by Google.

5) Don’t use hidden keywords in your website. Hidden keywords are keywords placed in a webpage in such a way so that it can not be seen by a human. Adding hidden keywords is another reason for a website to get banned in Google.

6) Avoid cloaking, it’s another black hat SEO technique that can easily get your website banned in Google. Trying to fool the search engine will not drive more traffic to your site but it will only get the site banned in Google.

If you want to drive quality traffic from search engine then it’s important to avoid these mistakes that can ban your website in Google.
